Welcome to MEPC English!

Feel free to look around the website, and to ask us a question if you can’t find what you’re looking for.

Our Sunday Church Service starts at 10.00am, and you’re very welcome to join us for worship.

We’re located on the corner of Excelsior and Kimberley Streets in Guildford, and when you arrive, you’ll find two services happening at the same time, Arabic and English – meeting in the same building, but in different areas. The English meeting is upstairs. (There is a Sunday School for the kids, which commences at 10am in the Green Shed.)

About Us

MEPC began its ministry in Sydney about 40 years as an Arabic speaking evangelical church.

Like many ethnic churches, an English ministry to the children of migrants developed, which grew strongly through the years, and now continues as MEPC English.

MEPC holds firmly to the Apostles’ Creed in its confession, and to the Gospel in its witness. (As a member of the Presbyterian Church of New South Wales, MEPC also affirms the doctrinal position of the Westminster Confession of Faith.)

MEPC is currently staffed by two Ministers: Rev Nasif Kalada (Arabic) and Rev David McDougall (English).

Merrylands East Presbyterian is a Christian Church, centrally located in the wider Sydney region, with services in Arabic and English, and is a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church of New South Wales.

Youth

MEPC (Arabic and English) run combined ministries to both primary and high school children.
Kids from Prep to Year 6 are welcome to participate in Sunday School, which operates on site from 10am each Sunday, and caters for the following classes: P-K, Years 1-2, Year 3, and Year 4-6.
Highschool kids are welcome to join in FUSE, which operates on site during term time on a Friday night from 7.30pm to 9.30pm

Small Groups

Small Groups will recommence in May in four locations around Sydney - three of them meeting fortnightly, one of them monthly - and working through The Ten Commandments in the LifeGuide Bible Studies series.

Events

A new Easter movie called ‘The King of kings’ is now screening in cinemas around Sydney. It represents an authentic life of Christ, including the clear message that ‘Christ died for our sins’. It is child-friendly, which it should be, to describe the life of him who always welcomed little children. Our Communion services will continue this year to be scheduled on the first Sunday of the month
